At Thrive, every program we offer is built around one core belief: children learn best through creative play and collaboration. Unlike traditional music schools that focus on solo practice, we use a game-based, collaborative curriculum that puts listening first. Students learn to hear, feel, and understand music before reading it.
Thrive Musician's Journey Roadmap
AGES 4-8
Exploration Bands
MiniKeys Ages 4-5
This game-based is the perfect kickstart to your child's musical journey. Students explore piano, drums, and voice, and write original songs as a band. This interactive program fosters a lifelong love of music by nurturing creativity, kindness, and friendship through engaging games, songs, and hands-on play.
Jam Band 101 Ages 6-8
This game-based, songwriting-centered class fosters collaboration through music. Kids explore different band instruments, learn music fluencies, practice basic techniques, and build confidence in their creativity—all while having fun.

Songwriter's Journey
Creative Music Launchpad Ages 6-11
Your child's musical adventure begins with games, creativity, and exploration. In our engaging weekly classes, young musicians learn the four core fluencies of Rhythm, Melody, Harmony, and Songwriting in a supportive and fun environment.

Our curriculum is designed to cultivate critical thinking and creativity while incorporating collaboration, so that our students can develop their own unique musical voice and learn how to express themselves as part of a team.

Level up your child's musical journey by building on the skills they've gained in the Songwriter's Journey. In this program, they'll dive deeper into the art of playing in a band, learning the importance of teamwork as they collaborate with the same group of musicians each week. Along the way, they'll explore different musical genres, break down popular songs, and create their own original music. It's a fun and enriching experience that will help them grow as both musicians and team players.

Which program should my child start with?
Your child's age guides their starting point:
- Ages 4-5: MiniKeys
- Ages 6-8: Music Launchpad, then either Jam Band 101 or Group Instrument Classes
- Ages 9+: Music Launchpad, then either Group Instrument Classes, Private Lessons, and/or Rock & Write Band
Does my child need their own instrument?
Yes, students should have their own instrument for home practice. While we provide instruments during drum and piano lessons, having an instrument at home is essential for practice. Drum students can start with a practice pad or even pillows before investing in a full kit.
What happens if my child misses a class?
If you cancel at least 48 hours in advance:
- Private lesson students receive a make-up token
- Group Instrument Class, Art, MiniKeys, and Jam Band 101 receive a make-up token
For cancellations with less than 48 hours notice, private lesson students receive a customized Home Study lesson.
What about holiday closures?
Monthly membership fees include weekly lessons over a calendar year, divided into equal monthly installments. Holidays and planned closures are already accounted for in your monthly rate.
What if there's inclement weather?
We plan for occasional snow days each year, so your minimum number of lessons remains unaffected and monthly fees continue as normal.

How do you track my child's progress?
Students progress through clear levels in our Songwriter's Journey curriculum, with regular opportunities to demonstrate their growth through:

- Seasonal gigs
What if we need to discontinue lessons?
We require notice through your iClassPro customer portal by the 5th of the month to cancel your membership that month. We recommend finishing out a season when possible.
How is billing structured?
Monthly membership fees include:
- Weekly lessons
- Collaboration weeks
- Holiday closures
- Planned events
All of these are divided into equal monthly installments for consistent billing throughout the year.
Can my child try different instruments?
Yes! All-Access Class Pass students can explore different instruments by booking drop-in classes. However, students will only receive resources and progress through curriculum levels for instruments in which they have an ongoing subscription.
How can I support my child's musical journey?
You can:
